Panels missing around the place, beach is eroded away. The water was up to the deck at one point during the hurricane.
It does draw a crowd. We are always seated promptly though.
Ask for Brad! Best of the best around!
Yes
No not usually
Call them and ask? It was open a week ago. All outside seating.
Yes they do
Yes lots!!
Excellent food, atmosphere, and great service. We have to come here everytime we visit St George Island. We recommend.
Great beach front restaurant with a good atmosphere and food. Wished they were more Covid concerned.
I won't be back. Good food and service, too long of a wait on food. Total time there 2 hour 45 min.
Great place for eating on the beach but most of it is commercially fried food. Go the other way and try the oysters...really good. If your partner doesn't like fish than this is not the place for you.
The food was excellent. We appreciated the social distant seating and that all the servers were wearing masks. The pic is my meal of the Blue Parrot Seafood Combination plate.
Have never left a review but this restaurant was so abysmal I decided it was worth my time. We placed a takeout order over the phone and was told it would be ready in a few minutes. We arrived at the restaurant around 20 min later and were told to wait because the kitchen was backed up. Another 30 min later the food was still not ready. Several people were getting agitated complaining they had been waiting for over an hour. After we were finally able to track down a server, she said that there was no record of our order and accused me of calling the wrong restaurant. After showing her my call history, she finally admitted they had made a mistake. No apology. On top of this, I saw multiple people WORKING IN THE KITCHEN with masks dangling off their faces. If you don’t want to waste an hour of your day and/or suffer a horrible death from COVID-19, please steer clear.
The food and service are really good. The best key lime pie!!
for lunch as this was highly recommended as THE oceanfront dining experience!I wish I had read the latest Health Score before we ate here - Yikes, 7 violations and Florida only rates as a Pass or Fail with no numeric scale such as 60/100.The food was a tad bit pricey, but what you would expect on St. Georges Island for the millionaire tourists and local millionaire vacation seafront mansion homeowners. We might come back, as the food was fresh and plentiful. Service was good, but not outstanding. So I rate it 4 stars... Try it and you probably will agree with me.
The crab claws we're very good I also had the baked grouper which was cooked to perfection.
July 4 great food , great service. Sauces, dressings from scratch and cole slaw. Shrimp tacos don’t get salsa on it,other than that excellent.
Food was amazing. Forgot servers name but the blackened grouper she suggested was awesome. So was the service.
What can I say about The Blue Parrot that hasn't already been said, I love the view from the back deck, the staff is outgoing and attentive.. I had the oyster Poboy the first day and the chicken strip basket the last day and they both were fantastic and plentiful portions.
A fun bar and restaurant right on the beach in Saint George Island. All tables are outside but some are covered while others on the deck are not. Tasty mixed drinks and standard but excellent seafood fare are the specialites here. Excellent service. The parking lot is small but there are other free lots nearby.
The atmosphere and view are amazing! They were very busy but the food was good! Everything was cooked correctly and had food flavors.
this is the best place yo eat st there good was amazing i personaly suggest the grupper.
Ok food. Great atmosphere. Don't order to-go during peak hours. They had only one person taking to-go orders during covid. We tried calling for 30 minutes to no avail. Went there and still had to wait 30 minutes just to place an order, then over an hour to get food. There were families that got there after we did, were seated, ordered, ate, and paid all while we were waiting for food. Several other people also had issues beefier of a lack of communication between the hostess and the one person working to go orders. Overall, very poorly run in this regard. I'll still go here because it's basically the main option on the island for seafood, although I will explore other places.
Not worth the money. One and never again at this place. Food way over priced For quality. Not sure if the cooks know how to cook seafood but ordered the seafood platter and salad with it.. salad was old, mushy, wilted, brown. Grouper was dry and over cooked but came out cold, shrimp was tiny and over cooked, scallops were straight up burned, hush puppies I didn’t even get to taste because they were rock hard and couldn’t even get themTo split open. Wife had a margarita that she could only finish half of.. never in my time with her have I ever seen her not finish a margarita. 2 kids meals and 2 adult meals 90.00. Had better food at long johns silvers.
Don’t waste your money or time. Food was over cooked and over rated. Never received all of my food, only seen waitress twice. Was seated at a dirty table. Spent $80.00 for this.
We absolutely loved this gem of a place. We had just left appalachicola because the whole town was on Covid lockdown and we were not interested in participating in the paranoia. We found the Blue Parrot and had wonderful lunch. The service was good the food was good and the view and atmosphere was just what the doctor ordered. Definitely recommend this place.
I was pretty disappointed for a place that has good food as long as it is cooked right. No social distancing!!! The first night we ate dinner was the best experience, but the butter garlic oysters are not good, definitely do the regular. The 2nd experience last week for my to-go order was lunch. Server told me i could sit at the bar and an hour later i checked on my food, i was forgotten about by the server The manager bribed me with key lime pie. The last experience was the final attempt and worst. To go food for a lite order took 1.5 hours, my wife's MW burger was cooked MR with the blood juice all over the fries, my Mahi Rueben was half the fish portion for more money than the first one i ordered, Do Not expect updates on your to go wait and the managers do not care! I guess if your options are limited you can be a bully!
Emma was an amazing server! Very attentive and never let our drinks get empty.
Worst meal I've eaten in a while. I got the jalapeno poppers, gumbo and a salad, and all 3 were gross. You might ask, why did I get those food items at a seafood restaurant, and it's a good question, but ALL OF THE FOOD they serve should be worth the money you spend. It was literally freezer burned, and the cheese tasted moldy on the salad. It was gross. The atmosphere was nice, but it's on the beach so what do you expect?!
It is not worth the money. I've had better meals from food trucks. Having a beachfront location does nothing for the taste and quality.
Been eatting here for 25 yrs best place on island
Great food and great service. No complaints great to be served.
My favorite restaurant on St. George Island! It is kind of expensive but they have great food and super friendly/professional service. I had the stuffed gulf shrimp with cheese grits and a baked potato and I really enjoyed it. They also make very good Mai Tai's
Seafood platter was fresh and cooked perfectly! Even an outside deck to bring your pet. Great service and quality. Thank you very much! You made our trip!
Went to get to go food because of COVID-19. There was no social distancing in the restaurant. Ordered and was told it would be 20 minutes. We ordered simple fried seafood. People came, were seated and had finished their meal before we got our food. People who ordered to go food at least 15 minutes after me got their food. The orders were the same size has mine. 1 hour later we finally got our food. They had added a standard gratuity to our to go order. 🙄 Normally I like The Blue Parrot, despite it being overpriced, it is convenient and the view is nice. I have eaten there many times, but it will definitely be a minute before I return.
The food was delicious! The coleslaw was super sweet. The hush puppies were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
This place was recommended by a friend so my daughter and I went. The service was extremely slow, but they did have patio sitting that is dog friendly. The peel and eat shrimp was DEFINITELY not typical peel and eat. It was overcooked, warm and seasoned with Old Bay, served with melted butter. Had Lobster Bisque and it was mediocre and definitely not fresh. Daughter had fish tacos. They had salsa already in them, so the flour tortilla became soggy and couldn't be held. The daiquiris were good, not too strong, but really sweet. Wouldn't go back.
We had an awesome lunch....Fish Tacos w/blackened Grouper & Cole slaw....Conch Fritters & Grouper fingers & Sandblasters....AMAZING LUNCH. Heather was our server...Awesome
We love the Blue Parrot! No trip to St. George Island is complete without a meal and a drink (Sandblaster) at the BP. Get the grouper done "the way the locals eat it" and don't miss the blue 🦀 claws. Great service, relaxed setting and that vacation vibe help make the meals that much more enjoyable. Kids, teens, adults all will find great food and a great time with a meal here. We will be back again next trip.
Service was at best mediocre. I don’t even know her name as she never introduced herself! With that being said not worth a 20% tip. The smoked tuna dip however was amazing!!One last if the owners or managers see this... please watch your staff eating a hush puppy or anything else in front of your patrons! So overall yes great location go for the dip... don’t expect much service
Yummy food, good service and pretty beach views. Decent prices.
Nice outdoor seating. Had the blackened grouper sandwich and it was a good meal, tartar sauce was some of the best I've had!
This restaurant does not care about its customers at all. They are more than willing to risk spreading covid to their patrons for a quick buck. The wait for take out orders was outrageous, kitchen staff did not wear masks (you can see through the swinging door), and there was no apology for the wait.
The bar was very busy, but, a nice tip helped me out with getting my drinks a little quicker as the afternoon wore on. There was live music, drinks, and sunshine while we waited to be seated for our meal. All of the staff was wearing masks, but, admittedly, social distancing was a little tough due to number of patrons. Once we got our food, everything was wonderful. The cocktail claws were delicious as was the World Famous Seafood Platter fried. Pricey, but, I needed a to go box and I never need a to go box, so, the portion was more than generous. Definitely worth the price.
Fun place to get drinks at the bar by the beach. There was a girl in there with more hair on her belly than me. Some guy bought her a drink and she left before she could get it boy did he get saved from that man woman.
Friendly service, good food, we noticed some weird taxes being added to our bill that were not present on other places around.
Best place to eat out on St. George Island. Seating is all outdoor with some under roof and some not. Food is always delicious and delivered in a timely manner for the number of people who may be there at one time, though the wait for a table can get long. But, the ocean view . . . 😌
Incredibly rude and were not wearing masks even in the kitchen during this pandemic. We called in a food order to be told an hour later that it was not ready. The manager said that we never called even though our phone history clearly proves that we did. We walked away without food. Disappointed. Disgusted. Disapproved. :(
This is the only good place in the island. Very popular and over crowded, we waited to be seated like 15 min but the longest was to wait to someone come to take care of us. Be ready for wait. Still great food. Amazing flavor, well done, I tried the lobster soup and a sampler plate very delicious. My husband got the raw oysters really fresh and great. I completely forgot to ask for their famously lime pie 😞I asked for a piña colada and was great. This restaurant is not separating tables.I brought my own clorox wipes to clean our table and chair arm rest. I cleaned the baby high chair. Looks haven't being clean in years 😫I still giving a 5 star rate because staff is doing all they can to satisfy clients and food is amazing good. Fair prices. Be sure you tip your waitress above they are risking for all us to have a great meal. Thanks Blue Parrot!
Did not like their poor service and bland food. Love the beach!!!!!
Always a great time! Service is top notch. Alcoholic drinks are very flavorful. The watermelon wave is my favorite. Cheese bites are real Midwestern cheese curds! I recommend trying them with ranch instead of marinara. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu!
I'll only give it 3 stars because the server was amazing but the food was not cooked right. They serve chicken tenders but not fried chicken for my salad so I was confused. You should have a choice of fried or grilled chicken for your salad !!
Beautiful beach front view and amazing frozen drinks, a little pricy but that's how seafood is.
The blackened Mahi was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right!
Food was good, AMAZING rum runner and beautiful view! Also it was great that we could take the pups since our house wasn’t ready on check-in day and they needed to stretch out after a long drive. The server was so sweet to bring them each a bowl of cold water! A little pricey but it’s an ocean front restaurant, that’s to be expected.
Three for lunch.. wife did not want anything fried.. wanted baked potato.. not till after 4:00 pm.. the grilled Mihi was good.. cheese curds were oily, wife enjoyed the cheese grits.. hush puppies were very plain.. fries just came out of a bag.. didn't care for the Key Lime pie.. View of the Gulf was great.. overall, a tourist trap..
